Complete dentures can be looked as the last option for replacing missing teeth. They can also be termed as artificial teeth. A person should always be aiming to save as many as natural teeth as possible because they are more efficient at chewing food. Procedure for getting a complete Denture

After extracting all the teeth, the wound heals completely. A new bone is formed and the gums covering the bones become healthy. Patient can start wearing a artificial teeth after that. The time to heal usually takes about 8-11 weeks. It takes multiple steps and measurements before a denture is fabricated. It may take 5-6 visits before the final denture. The time for complete fabrication is about 10-15 days.

OVER DENTURES

Overdentures are similar to routine dentures. The only difference is that they are either supported by some remaining teeth or a few dental implants. Generally overdentures that are supported by teeth are treated by root canal treatment.
